Shane Wallace Morton
I am a mechanical engineering student currently in my junior year at the University of Colorado Boulder. I design, build, and test mechanical systems using CAD software and physical prototypes. In my free time, I edit personal videos and write. You can find my projects spanning all of these in their respective sections on this site.
I have hands-on experience with aerospace R&D testing procedures, precision calibration, and rapid prototyping. I am also a Certified SolidWorks Associate (CWSA) and well-versed in Python and MATLAB.
Job experience - Currently at CU Boulder's ITLL, I maintain 20 Prusa MK4S printers and 5 laser cutters and mentor ~30 students per shift. As a mechanical engineering intern at Parker Meggitt, I tested extinguisher bottles and cartridges, analyzed ~100 defective sealed bottles to drive manufacturing fixes, and led a technical documentation overhaul. At Morton Manufacturing, I calibrated ~20 precision tools per shift and ran Gage R&R and uncertainty testing to NAS/AMS standards.
